History
At Kimpton Primary School we want our pupils to develop a historical curiosity, to ask probing questions and to understand abstract terms such as ‘empire’, ‘civilisation’, ‘parliament’ and ‘peasantry’. Through considered teaching children will learn about the history of the British Isles and of the world as a whole. They will draw comparisons between civilisations, empires and non-European societies.
We want our children to be engaged and enthused by history and want them to discover about the past and significant people from the past.
We want them to use their knowledge to understand the cultural, political and social connections between key periods.
